Assistant Dean Justin Cruz

Justin Cruz is the Assistant Dean of Admission and Diversity Initiatives at Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law. He earned his BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering with Honor from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, and his JD from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri. Dean Cruz has served in various leadership roles for the Law School Admission Council (LSAC), including as a current member of the Board of Trustees and previously on the Diversity Committee, Finance and Legal Affairs Committee and the Emerging Markets and Innovation Committee. In 2017, he received the “Be the Change” leadership award from the Orange County Bar Association and in 2019 received the CLEO EDGE Diversity Award for his work to progress diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. Dean Cruz has served on various panels and programs in support of system involved prospective law students including participating in the Stanford Law Roundtable on Law School and California State Bar Admission for People with Criminal Records in 2018 and serving as a panelist during the 1st Annual Convening of the California System Involved Bar Association at UCLA Law School in 2020.
